The votes are in and Sencha’s products have won a 2010 Bossie award from InfoWorld for the best open source application development software.

Both Ext JS and Ext GWT have won Hive Awards at SXSW this year in the “Business Software” category. Also of note, our very own David Kaneda won for his project, jQTouch, in “Consumer Software” and was also voted one of the “Top Five” overall.

In addition to being one of the most powerful JS frameworks around, Ext is highly completely customizable. Moving forward, we’ll be using the “spotlight” tag to highlight some of the best implementations we’ve seen. This image is from Spiral Universe, a web-based school management system. The interface is completely customized, and built on Ext GWT—A full Java implementation of Ext JS for Google Web Toolkit.
